This production was the first time I was responsible for a major set piece. I created a paper design for an entire coral reef. Our technical director cut out the shapes (we’re not usually allowed to use power tools in school). I assembled it, chose the colors and did a lot of the painting. Our TD assigned some helpers to paint, and I directed them. I also positioned the piece on stage.
I also did a bunch of general tech crew tasks – prop making, painting, setup and clean up.
