- Venue – High School Auditorium
- Size – 600+ seats
- Role – General Tech Crew
Shrek was the first production where I was the senior lighting person. I collaborated directly with our Technical Director to design and implement the lighting cues. I also built the dragon head and a variety of set pieces. One of the fun things was figuring out how to make glowing dragon eyes. I ended up using rechargeable camping lights that I added lighting gel to.
Set pieces and props I worked on/built:
- A ramp
- The dragon head and light up eyes
- Various mobile set pieces
- Multiple small props
This production featured mostly mobile set pieces, rather than large static scenery. Most pieces were made from wood, plywood, newspaper and canvas.
Lighting:
- Designed a majority of the cues
- Provided feedback/input on all other scenes
- Operated lights and followed cue sheets during rehearsals and live performances.
