My high school has a really good art program. In my first year of high school, the art department chose two pieces of student art to feature on the “Celebrate the Arts Night” poster. My abstract sculpture was one of the chosen pieces.
The sculpture was for an art class assignment. I made it from cardboard and wire, and painted it to look like metal. I liked the way it looked but I was still surprised when they told me it was one of the winning pieces! But I also know I’m often my harshest critic.
